Bar Multi-stream Diffuser

Bar grille face side-blow diffuser with manually adjustable multi-stream discharge pattern for draught-free air supply from walls or bulkheads.

Modular, continuous, flanged and flangeless options available. Mounting frame optional.

Location – side: Air supply from sidewall, bulkhead or side of duct.
Mixed flow discharge: High aspiration of individual air streams intensely mixes supply air with room air, producing high induction creating strong supply air dilution with room air and rapid discharge velocity decay. Low velocity, high momentum supply air motion of substantially uniform temperature distribution over short or long throws is achieved. Ideal for enhanced thermal comfort (ADPI ≥ 90%).
Return air: Suitable for use as a return air inlet, or for combined supply and return air.
Low temperature supply: May be used for low temperature (cold air) supply systems (Tsupply ≈ 10 °C), where ∆Tsupply-room ≥ -12 K.
VAV dependent throw: VAV turndown to approximately 50% @ ∆Tsupply-room ≈ -12 K, with throw dependent upon airflow rate.
Adjustable direction: Multi-stream jets are individually adjustable, providing air pattern direction, spread and throw adjustment for up/down, left/right, short, medium or long throw.
Manual adjustment: Manual air pattern adjustment through diffuser face by means of an Allen key avoids inadvertent changes to discharge pattern setting (eg by cleaners).
Slotted face pattern: Linear bar grille with modular or continuous aesthetic. Face aesthetic unaffected by discharge pattern setting. Alternative to perforated face of SMARTEMP Perforated Multi-stream Wall Diffuser (PMW-AD).
Metal face: Linear bar and frame of aluminium, anodised or powder coated to colour of choice.

Options

Linear face shape: Continuous linear aesthetic with two flanged or flangeless edge profiles.
Rectangular face shape: Modular with four flanged or flangeless edge profiles.
Mounting Frame: Suitable for rendering into plaster board bulkhead or wall. Diffuser clips in from side.
Plenums: Side-entry connection boxes with concealed diffuser fastenings.

  • Multi-stream discharge elements made of black plastic (ABS, V0 fire rated) break the airflow into a multitude of highly inductive individual air streams of differing discharge direction.
  • Adjustable air streams have four different discharge angles, with the outer angles flatter than inner ones, and each may be rotated to one of six discharge directions, ensuring high aspiration, broad dispersion of the supply air flow for draught-free air supply.
  • Edge aluminium profiles, flanged or flangeless, and aluminium linear bar grilles anodised or powder coated to RAL colour of choice.
