Tested performance for critical smoke-control applications

The Quality Air Equipment MOT-SD is a motorised aluminium smoke damper designed for dependable smoke-control and smoke-exhaust applications. Independently tested by Jensen Hughes, it combines low air leakage with verified operation under elevated-temperature conditions.

• Independently tested
  Tested by the ISO/IEC 17025-accredited Jensen Hughes Fire Testing laboratory in accordance with AS 1530.7:2007 (R2018) and the applicable performance requirements of AS 1682.1:2015.
• Low smoke leakage
  The tested 1600 × 1200 mm specimen recorded leakage of only 119 m³/h at 300 Pa after 30 minutes at 200°C. This equates to approximately 62 m³/h/m²—around 83% below the maximum leakage rate specified in AS 1682.1:2015.
• Two-hour elevated-temperature operation
  The motorised smoke damper remained functional following two hours of exposure at 200°C under the tested sprinklered-building conditions.
• Large-format tested configuration
  Performance was verified using a full-size 1600 mm wide × 1200 mm high aluminium smoke damper.
• Motorised operation
  The tested configuration incorporated a Belimo® FSAF230A actuator for reliable powered operation.
• Lightweight aluminium construction
  Manufactured from aluminium to provide a durable, corrosion-resistant solution suited to commercial HVAC and smoke-management systems.
• Smoke-control and smoke-exhaust capability
  Tested for smoke leakage and operational performance, supporting its use in engineered smoke-control and smoke-exhaust systems.
• Face-mounted installation tested
  The test specimen was face mounted over an aperture in a fire-rated, timber-framed plasterboard wall system.
